Faversham Gunpowder and Otterden & Stalisfield WI both held fundraising events with proceeds donated to the charity, all in support of Amy Willoughby who has a low grade brain tumour

SOUP AND PUDDINGS

A Soup and Puddings event took place at Holme-next-the-Sea where guests enjoyed homemade fare.  A raffle and competitions were also held.

BURSTON GARDEN CENTRE

Staff at Burston Garden Centre, near St Albans, held various events in the latter part of 2024 including fun activities for children in the half term.   Also ladies knitting group held a sale of their goods.

AFTERNOON TEA

Trustee Neal Blatherwick organised an Afternoon Tea for 148 guests.  £2,615 was raised which was divided between Treetops Hospice and Astro Brain Tumour Fund, all in memory of Neal’s wife, Catherine.

LINDA’S TATTOO CHALLENGE

ABTF trustee Linda Rickford was persuaded to have a tattoo done and in doing so raised over £2,600 for the charity.  She also appeared on Breakfast  tv!

GREAT SCOTTISH RUN

  6th October 2024 Kane Willoughby and team successfully took part in this Half Marathon on 6th October and raised £1,680 via a Just Giving page. Kane did this in support of his sister Amy who is undergoing treatment for a low-grade brain tumour. One of the team generously sent Amy their medal

Fraser Allison successfully took part in this gruelling challenge in support of his best friend, Archie Goodburn who was diagnosed in May this year, at the age of 22, with 3 Oligodendroglioma brain tumours. MG CAR CLUB RALLY

An MG rally was held in lovely sunshine in Norfolk. There was a great turnout and an amazing £814 was raised for Astro Brain Tumour Fund. ABTF trustee, Neal Blatherwick raised £700 with card evenings, badminton and tennis sessions and his sister, Carol,  raised £100 from coffee and bingo events

NORFOLK RIVERIA RUN 2023

The MG Car Club (Anglia Centre) held the “Norfolk Riveria Run 2023” on 28th December 2023 and as a result donated the sum of £150 to Astro Brain Tumour Fund.

BUCKET COLLECTIONS

Trustees Mary and Robbie, plus volunteers Jackie, Elspeth and Peter,  held collections at Tesco and Sainsbury’s, Hunstanton, the total proceeds of which amounted to £687.

SOUP & PUDDINGS EVENT

Trustees Mary & Robbie held their annual event on 2nd December. Homemade soup and puddings were enjoyed by almost 60 guests. A raffle, tombola and competition for Afternoon Tea for two at Congham Hall were held and books and paintings were sold. Proceeds amounted to £1,005.

Trustees Robbie and Mary held their open garden event to visitors who looked around the flower and veg gardens before enjoying homemade cake and tea. Books were up for sale and a raffle and tombola were also held.

Trustee Linda writes:   “A race night was held at The Jack & Jill pub in Coulsdon in Surrey, in aid of Astro Brain Tumour Fund.  £207 was raised and, as the charity is run by volunteers from their homes, every penny will go directly to low grade glioma brain tumour research”.

Pat Weale writes; ”We had a charity evening in Dave’s memory last night where we provided a buffet and played bingo, darts and a card trick game” Pat, family and friends raised £440 for Astro Brain Tumour Fund.

  Over fifty people enjoyed tea and cakes at Holme-next-the-Sea village hall on 15th April. A raffle was also held and proceeds amounted to £394 for Astro Brian Tumour Fund.

PARIS MARATHON 2023

  Drew Kemp successfully completed the Paris Marathon on 2nd April and raised £2,636 (including Gift Aid) for Astro Brain Tumour Fund. Drew did the race in support of his lifelong friend, Shay Emerton who was diagnosed with a low-grade glioma brain tumour in 2021.
